- Gematria assigns a numerical value to each letter, so every word and phrase adds up to a number. Words that share a number are considered connected. The practice goes back to ancient Hebrew numeration and Greek isopsephy.
- How is a gematria value calculated?
- Each cipher is a table mapping letters to values. In English Ordinal, a=1 through z=26, so 'Jesus' is 10+5+19+21+19 = 74. Different ciphers use different tables — this calculator computes 36 of them simultaneously.
- Which ciphers does this calculator support?
